Our story

Stitched by hand, one at a time.

ROYAL is a small leather workshop. We make wallets, card holders, keychains, passport covers and Apple Watch bands from full-grain Tuscan leather, and every seam on every piece is saddle-stitched by hand with waxed thread.

That last sentence is the whole company. A machine lockstitch pulls one thread through the leather; if it breaks, the seam unzips. A saddle stitch uses two needles and one thread, locking every stitch independently, so a cut stitch stays put. It takes several times longer, which is why almost nobody does it at our prices — and why we can put a one-year craftsmanship warranty on a wallet that folds in half.

Who makes them

ROYAL was founded by Muhammad Younas in 2020 and is owned and run by Shop Royal LLC. Cutting, stitching and edge-finishing happen at our own bench. We do not white-label from a factory; the leather comes in as hides and leaves as finished goods with our crown embossed on the front.

The leather

We use full-grain hide from Tuscany — the top layer of the skin, grain intact, with no sanding and no pigment coat. That is why our tan pieces darken to saddle brown, why scuffs on black and chocolate rub out with a thumb, and why nothing we make cracks or peels. We do not use “genuine leather”, bonded leather or split leather anywhere in the range.

• Full-grain Apple Watch bands for 42/44/45 mm cases

Everything is made in small batches, so a colour is sometimes sold out for a few weeks while the next batch is cut.
