Our material standards
Buy less, buy better
Fast fashion has a leather equivalent — bonded and genuine-leather goods that peel within two years. We refuse to make them. Full-grain leather is more expensive to source and slower to work with. We do it anyway because a piece that lasts twenty years is infinitely more sustainable than one replaced every two.
Leather and longevity
We acknowledge that leather is an animal product. Our position: a full-grain leather wallet that lasts decades is a better use of that material than synthetic alternatives replaced annually. We use hides sourced from the food industry — no animal is raised solely for its leather.
Made to order, not mass-produced
We don't warehouse thousands of units. Products are made in small batches by a small team in Alexandria, Virginia. Lead times are slightly longer on some items — and so is the lifetime of every piece that leaves the workshop.
