Burgundy is the dress-shoe colour of wallets: it reads as considered, goes with navy and grey better than black does, and looks expensive in a way that is hard to put a finger on. Ours adds a hidden slot behind the card pockets, because a wallet this composed should have something up its sleeve. THE SECRET SLOT A flat pocket concealed behind the three card slots. It takes a spare card or a folded bill without adding thickness, and it stays hidden when the wallet is open. THE OXBLOOD A deep wine red dyed through Tuscan full-grain hide. In daylight it is clearly burgundy; under restaurant light it goes almost black. Because the colour is in the leather rather than on it, the fold develops a darker, glossier line with use rather than a worn one. LAYOUT Three card pockets and a full bill compartment — four to eight cards and unfolded cash — on a bifold cut roughly 20% slimmer than standard.
