Full description

The commuter's holder. A short leather flap snaps down over the front card sleeve so nothing slides out; on the back, a clear window holds the card you present twenty times a day — transit pass, office badge, licence — ready without opening anything.

THE FLAP
Short, so it lifts with one thumb, and snapped, so it stays closed in a coat pocket. Underneath, a sleeve for your everyday cards.

THE WINDOW
Clear and back-facing: tap through it at a turnstile or a door reader. Your other cards stay covered.

INSIDE
It opens to further slots on both leaves — four to six cards in all, plus a folded bill if you need one.

THREE COLOURS
Tan, chocolate and burgundy full-grain leather. The tan arrives pale and darkens toward saddle over the first year.

CONSTRUCTION
Full-grain leather, hand saddle-stitched with waxed thread, edges bevelled and burnished.

SPECIFICATIONS
3.9 × 2.8 × 0.3 inches · 85 g · 4–6 cards + ID window + snap flap.

Materials & care

To clean your ROYAL Short Flap Card Holder, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and light debris — for deeper cleaning, use a slightly dampened cloth with a small amount of leather-specific cleaner, then allow to air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Condition the leather every 3–6 months using a premium leather conditioner to preserve its supple texture and rich finish, applying in small circular motions with a clean cloth. Store your card holder in its dust bag or a cool, dry place away from humidity, sharp objects, and prolonged exposure to light to prevent fading or cracking. Avoid contact with water, oils, perfumes, and abrasive surfaces to maintain the integrity of the leather and protect the craftsmanship of your ROYAL piece.

Frequently asked questions

Can I tap my transit card without opening it?

+

Yes. A clear window on the back holds the card you present most — transit pass, badge, licence — and you tap through it at a turnstile or door reader.

What does the short flap do?

+

It snaps down over the front card sleeve so nothing slides out in a coat pocket, and lifts with one thumb.

Does it open?

+

Yes, it opens to further slots on both leaves — four to six cards in all, plus a folded bill if you need one.

Where does the tan patina show first?

+

On the flap and around the window, where your thumb lands. The natural full-grain darkens toward saddle over the first year.

Which side is the ID window on?

+

The back. It is sized for a transit card, work badge or licence so you can present the holder and tap without opening anything.

Why chocolate for a commuter holder?

+

The flap edge and the window surround are handled constantly. Dark brown full-grain takes that as a subtle gloss rather than a visible mark — the colour for a holder that works hard.

How many cards fit?

+

Four to six: the front sleeve under the snap flap plus the interior slots when it opens.

Is the flap secure in a bag?

+

Yes — it is snapped, not just folded, so it stays closed in a coat lining or a bag.

Is this the right holder for a daily commute?

+

That is what it is built for: a back-facing ID window for the card you tap on the way in, a short snap flap over the front sleeve, and more slots inside for four to six cards in all.

How does the burgundy look under office light?

+

Nearly black. Outdoors it reads as a deep wine red. The flap crease darkens to a glossy line with use.

Can I keep a bill in it?

+

Yes, a folded bill fits in the interior slots when the holder opens.

Is there any lining?

+

No. Hand saddle-stitched full-grain leather with bevelled, burnished edges and nothing glued inside.
